This afternoon we welcomed Nickie Aiken, MP for cities of London and Westminster, back to school to speak to everyone in an assembly.

She told us all about the busy week in parliament, with the State Opening of Parliament and the King’s speech. She reminded us of the different parties and what it is like in the House of Commons. Lots of children had a chance to ask Nickie questions and were very interested in the history of parliament.

After the assembly, Nickie met with School Council so that they could find out more about her role as an MP. They were able to ask lots of questions about the laws she is currently trying to put through parliament, as well as finding out what inspired her to be an MP and what she enjoys and dislikes about the job.

Thank you Nickie for visiting us again!
