This week, for our ‘Minibeasts’ topic, we have been learning all about ladybirds.

We have been  reading…

and…

…as well as reading lots of non-fiction books to find out more information about ladybirds. Now we know that they eat aphids and that they hatch out of an egg like caterpillars.

We found out how many legs and antennae they have and then we each drew our own ladybird shape, drew 2 wings  and  added 2 antennae and 6 legs.

Finally we each counted out 4 black pom poms and investigated different ways to make 4 by putting different numbers of spots on each wing.

We are very proud of our finished ladybirds.

Don’t forget to go to Google Classroom to take part in this week’s home-school link activity about ladybirds.
