This term, the children have had the opportunity to showcase a wide range of wonderful wider curriculum homework projects linked to our Geography topic, Food and Farming in the UK. We have been incredibly impressed by the time, effort and creativity that has gone into each piece of work.
The children explored where different foods come from and developed their understanding of the journey food takes before it reaches our plates. Many children created fantastic farm models using a variety of materials, carefully including features such as fields, farm animals, tractors and farm buildings. Others researched different foods and investigated whether they are produced in the UK or imported from other countries. These activities helped the children make meaningful links between their learning in school and the world around them.
It has been wonderful to see the children take such pride in their work and confidently share their projects with their classmates. The high quality of the homework produced has helped to deepen their understanding of food production, farming and the important role farmers play in providing food for our communities.
A huge thank you to the parents for your continued support with learning at home. Your encouragement and guidance in these projects have made a real difference and have helped the children produce such thoughtful and creative pieces of work.
We greatly appreciate the time and effort you dedicate to supporting your child’s learning journey.
