Today the students had a great time looking at the toys they bought into school- they were very excited to share something from home!
In English we have been looking at the difference between fact and fiction, and discussing what this means. I explained that in English we are going to create a fact file about our favourite toy. We talked about the purpose of our toy, who the toy was made for (the audience), a description of its appearance and our opinion of it (if we like it or not and why).
Students then had time to sit at their desks and begin planning their fact file by writing initial points about their toy. They also drew pictures of it. During the next week we will plan and edit our actual fact files and create a class book of our collection of toys to put in the book corner!
