Today, Reception visited Clifton Nurseries Garden Centre!

As part of our theme ‘Seasons,’ we have been learning about all of the plants and flowers that bloom in the spring time. To develop our learning further about plants, we visited the garden centre to look at lots of different plants. The garden centre team showed us around and talked to us about the different plant names and shared some information about them.

After looking around the outdoor plant area at all of the outdoor plants we then got to look in the glasshouse area. This is where all of the indoor tropical plants are kept that need warmer temperatures to survive.

After looking around, we chose four plants to buy for our class. Ashleigh, one of the workers helped us chose plants that were appropriate for our school garden area.

We had lovely morning learning about different indoor and outdoor plants and how to care for them!

A special thanks to the team at Clifton Nurseries for showing us around and helping us with our learning today!

  1. I really loved going to the garden centre. Viviana was my partner, it was so much fun. I really liked smelling the herbs, my favourite one was Chocolate Mint, but it didn’t taste like chocolate mint! When it grows it will be so tall. I really liked going in to The Glass House I also liked going and seeing the ferns, it was so much fun! I have been to Clifton Nurseries with my mama and I also liked it that time too 🌼💐🌸🌺
