Today in Science we are going to be learning about Invertebrates.

Invertebrates are animals that do not have a backbone. Some have soft bodies like worms, slugs and jelly fish.

Some other invertebrates have a hard outer casing. This is called an exoskeleton.

These animals are different from humans because we have a backbone and it is on the inside of our bodies.

Watch this video to help you understand them a bit more!

This video helps you learn more about exoskeletons.

    – Vertebrates: dog, dinosaur, human, bird, mouse, cat, snake, turtle, shark, whale, giraffe, dolphin, lion.
    – Invertebrates: worm, jellyfish, butterfly, slug, crab, squid, ant, fly, bee, lobster, octopus, grasshopper.

Invertebrates have no BACKBONE. They often have soft bodies. There are some animals that are invertebrates. They are WORMS, SLUGS and BUTTERFLIES. Some invertebrates have a hard outer casing. This is called a EXOSKELETON. Vertebrates have a backbone on the inside. Some examples of vertebrates are HUMANS, BIRDS and MICE.

Invertebrates are creatures that have no backbone. They often have soft bodies. There are some animals that are invertebrates. They are jellyfish, worms, butterflies, and slugs. Some invertebrates have a hard outer casting. This called an exoskeleton. Vertebrates have a backbone on the inside. They are humans, birds, and mice, dogs.

  43. Miss Travers says:

    Super work! Well done!

  44. Invertebrates are animals that don’t have a backbone like humans. They are usually soft and squishy but sometimes they have a hard shell on the outside like a crab. Lots of animals are invertebrates, such as jellyfish, butterflies, slugs, and worms. Some vertebrates are humans, birds and mice.

  45. Miss Travers says:

    Excellent work, Flavia!
