A relative pronoun is a pronoun such as that, which, who, whom, and whose.

A relative pronoun is often used to begin a relative clause to connect it to the main clause.
Example: I enjoyed the film that we saw last week.

Example: We didn’t bring the receipt, which was a big mistake.

Can you write a super sentence with a relative pronoun in it?

Please proof-read your response before submitting (check punctuation, spelling and grammar).

We look forward to your responses,

Mrs Avdiu & Ms Robertson

  1. what do you have to do because it doesn’t say, it just gives examples?

  2. Mrs Avdiu says:

As always with the SPaG tasks you have to write a super sentence such as the examples given 🙂

  3. I really enjoyed the football match that I went to see the other day.

My friend, who lost his dog yesterday, called me in tears to tell me about it.

My mum, whose phone went missing, found it an hour later.

  4. Mrs Avdiu says:

  5. 1. My favourite subject in school is maths, which is very fun.

    3. I saw a Lamborghini, which is one of my favourite cars.
    4. My friend told me that he got a dog, that was a french bull dog.

  6. Mrs Avdiu says:

Well done. Names of dogs also need capital letters!

  7. Good morning Mrs Avdiu and Ms Robertson, I hope you are all well! I wasn’t quite sure what the task was but what I did was I wrote a short paragraph with as many relative pronouns as possible. This is what I came up with (It did not really happen):

Yesterday I fell down the stairs to my flat, which hurt a lot. I had a very big bruise, which looked very purple. I walked up the stairs, leaving the things I was carrying on the stairs, with my leg limping along. I had to get to my Mum, who could go and get the stuff I left on the stairs for me.

  8. Mrs Avdiu says:

Good morning Elsa. As always with the SPaG tasks you simply need to write a sentence such as the examples I’ve given you. Sorry this wasn’t clear! I’ve edited the post now so it should make more sense. Thank goodness you didn’t really fall down the stairs!

  9. Hello Mrs Avdiu and Ms Robertson , ✍

*That music is very good, I really like the album.
*My P.E coach is a teacher who I really like.
*The girl, who had green glasses, stole my notebook.

Although I found this challenge quite hard I really enjoyed it. ?

  10. Mrs Avdiu says:

Hi Erin! Hope you are well 🙂
Thank you for your fab sentences. I really liked the last sentence and your use of commas.

  11. Hello,
Elsa I am glad that did not happen, falling down stairs hurts a lot. Here are my sentences:

My dad’s attic, where I do Joe Wicks workout every morning, is a great place to do all sorts of other hobbies.
I love the native animal of the Alps, which happens to be my favourite animal, the Grey Wolf.
Dance is a great form of physical and mental exercise, that is also a cracking way of showing emotion.

  15. Hi guys! I hope you are well.
I dreamt that we went to the park for a walk, which looked beautiful.
I woke up at 5 o’clock this morning as I was excited for my birthday that was a bad idea, because my dad is now tired!!!

    Thanks for your wonderful sentences.

  17. Ms Robertson says:

    Hi Ayako
Was it really your birthday yesterday? (Happy belated birthday!?) if it was. On reading your great sentences this morning, I noticed a small error in the last one – can you spot it?

  18. Hello everyone! I hope your day has been good so far! For today’s task I came up with these sentences.

Here are some sentences with relative pronouns:
My younger cousin, who is only two years old, can already count to 10. She also likes her scooter, which she can ride independently. I think her older siblings, whom she watches with interest, give her ideas on how to do things on her own.

  21. Mrs Avdiu says:

    Wow- perfect!

  22. 1] The place where I do P.E. with Joe Wicks is my living room so I can do it with him on the TV.

5]” Whoever did this mess is the person who should come and pick everything up!”

  23. Mrs Avdiu says:

Thanks Marco. Please check the first sentence makes sense. The grammar suggests you are on the TV doing it with him! You need to rephrase this.
Question mark missing in the second sentence. Who said the final sentence? Great job!

  24. Hi Everyone
I hope all of you are having a nice day so far!
For today’s SPag Task I came up with these sentences:

  25. Mrs Avdiu says:

Thanks Elena. Is the first sentence a question because there is no question mark? Also please rephrase your second sentence as there are two ‘but’s and it doesn’t make sense? Thank you
