  27. My favourite character is Prospero because he tricked Antonio and King Alonso. I think that they deserved to be tricked , especially Antonio, because they sent Prospero and Miranda in a boat to die so that Antonio could become the duke of Milan.

I think that Prospero will teach a lesson to both Antonio and Alonso to not send people out in a boat to die, especially if they are famous and important people for the people who live in the country that they live in. also think that Prospero is going to become the Duke of Milan again, but sometimes to some magic when he is free.

I am enjoying all of the videos and hope to see more. I would like to hear the rest of the story and see if my prediction was close to what happened in the real story.

  28. Well done Sophie, you have explained your ideas in detail! It is great to think about the text in different ways and to make predictions along the way based on what we know so far as this helps us to deepen our understanding of the text.
I am looking forward to seeing if your prediction is close too!

2.they were watching a ship smashing into pieces
    3.staff, book and bible
    4.for comfort

    8.trembling

    10.propero
11.they were all brought to the island safely

  30. Well done Alfred! For question 7, the question says, use evidence from the text to justify your answer. Can you find some evidence from the text to do this?

  31. What I think will happen next is Prospero will try to get back to Italy
and will pretend that he is happy with Ferdinand and Miranda but when they get back Prospero traps Ferdinand.and kept him in a dungeon with rats and bats with no food or drink. And when he is trapped and he comes out he’ll be in such a state that Miranda won’t like him any more.or they leave Italy and go to a random country and a random hotel and they will say to him they will be staying there for 10 years. and Ferdinand booked a hotel room for 10 years but actually Prospero was staying there for 2 hours .

  32. I like Prospero because he is brave and strong. A monster will come and help Prospero. I like the video because you want to finish the story.

  33. A good prediction Martin! We will have to wait to find out what happens!

  34. Hello Miss Lee ?
Here are my answers to the comprehension questions:
    1. They are on a strange island.
    2. They were staring out to the sea.
    3. The 3 items that suggested that the man can do magic are the spell book, cloak and a carved staff.
    4. I think that Prospero puts his arm on the book and on his daughters arm so that he could give comfort to Miranda and himself.
    5. They were watching the ship being tipped over.
    6. The two words that tell us that the ship was being thrown around are heaved and tossed.
    7. From the text it said that they were watching a ship that was about to be smashed into pieces.
    8. The word that tells us that Miranda is scared is trembling.
    9. Nobody died because on the last 2 lines it says that “not a soul had been lost.”
    10. The one who created the storm was Prospero.
    11. What happened was that they probably swam to the nearest island and survived.

I have watched the clip and done the test. I only got one wrong but thats ok ??. I think the next part of the story will be that Prospero will teach his brother a lesson so that everything will be ok and Miranda and Ferdinand will live happily ever after. I also think that Prospero will not cause any harm on Antonio even though he did something bad to him. My favourite characters would probably be the spirit and Prospero because first of all, Prospero is a very kind and thoughtful person. I also picked the spirit because she/he is very bubbly and a happy person. I had also enjoyed watching all of the videos and I’m very interested and excited to see the next part!

  35. Hi Clare,
Well done for answering in so much detail!
A great prediction, we will have to see if you are close as we learn more about the story!

  36. Hello Miss Lee,

I think the next part of the story might describe how everyone on the ship survives. Then, how Calaban (Proseros’ servant) wants to win back the island because Calaban’s mother ,Sycorax, promised him that he would one day rule the island.

My favorite character is Arial (an airy spirit). He was the slave of Calaban’s mother. After he disobeyed her, he was imprisoned in a split of a tree. In a children’s book I have read, Arial is imagined as a creature with winged feet who can also change his form.

I am enjoying The Tempest because I have never read a Shakespeare book. It is a magical story. I enjoy books about magical things.

  37. A very detailed prediction well done Mayowa! It is good to think about the story in different ways to deepen our understanding! It’s great that you are enjoying your first every Shakespeare story! Maybe you will read more after this! When we are back at school I will show you the collection of Shakespeare stories that we have in our book corner in class!

  38. Hello everybody!
I really liked the story so far but I did not like the second video when people look like drawings. Even their talking is not as nice as in the first video. My favourite character is Calaban. I think Calaban will be set free and will own his island back.

Here the answers to the comprehension:
    1) they are on an island
    2) they are watching a shipwreck
    3) the cloack, the book and the carved staff
    4) I think he wants to feel sure about his magic and at the same time show his love to his daughter
    5) a shipwreck
    6) heaved and tossed
    7) the ship broke in half and sank
    8) trembling
    9) none
    10) Prospero
    11) they fell into the sea

  39. Hello Paolo!
I am glad you are enjoying the story! Maybe next week the video will be slightly different!
Can you add some evidence from the text to support your answer for question 7?

  40. Shakespeare’s plays are so good that they kept playing in the globe.
