Good morning, Year 5!
Today we will be revising: Multiplying a 2 Digit Number by a 2 Digit Number

Here’s a fun way to remember this method:
You could break numbers apart to multiply larger numbers using our knowledge of 1, 10, 100 and 1000. The column method above is another method.

Use your knowledge of place value to carry on multiplying 4 digit numbers like so:
Then, when you move on to multiplying a 2 digit number by a 2 digit number, you can use multiple methods and even estimation to help you work it out:
