Good morning Year 1!

It’s Miss Lee here! As Miss Travers is teaching at school I will be taking over the Year 1 blogs for now. But don’t worry, Miss Travers will be looking at them each day to see all of your fantastic work and I will be keeping her updated with all of your hard work too! At school on Monday Miss Travers and I worked together to plan your blog activities so that they match what Year 1 are doing in school as closely as possible.

Miss Travers tells me you have been working really well on the blogs and I am excited to see your work! If you are sending work in to be posted onto the blogs remember to send it to me from now on so that I can upload it for you.  🙂

Grouping Equally

When we group numbers we must make sure there are the same number in each groups. Another word for this is equal. The groups must be equal.

Let’s look at an example together…

The question asks us for groups of two. That means we must make sure there are 2 fish in every group. Like this:

We can make 6 groups of 2 fish.

Let’s look at another example together…

The question says that Emma wants to put 3 flowers in each vase. So we need to make groups of 3. Like this:

We have made 5 groups of 3 flowers.
