Good morning Year 1!

It’s Miss Lee here! As Miss Travers is teaching at school I will be taking over the Year 1 blogs for now. But don’t worry, Miss Travers will be looking at them each day to see all of your fantastic work and I will be keeping her updated with all of your hard work too! At school on Monday Miss Travers and I worked together to plan your blog activities so that they match what Year 1 are doing in school as closely as possible.

Miss Travers tells me you have been working really well on the blogs and I am excited to see your work! If you are sending work in to be posted onto the blogs remember to send it to me from now on so that I can upload it for you. 🙂

Today is special because we have a birthday in the class today…

Today we are continuing with your Religious Education topic – Being Sorry

So far you have been looking at right and wrong choices. Sometimes we make the wrong choice but it is important that we say sorry when we do this and ask for forgiveness. It can be hard to say sorry and admit our mistakes but this helps us to learn from our mistakes.

The picture shows Jesus gathering a group of people to help him spread the Good News.  He chose people who would follow him faithfully and would be sorry for when they made wrong choices.  Levi the tax collector was one of those people. This is what happened…

Have a go at answering these questions:

  • What was Levi’s job, what wrong choice did he make?

  • What was Levi’s answer to Jesus’ invitation to follow him?

  • What invitation did Levi give to Jesus?

  • How do you think Levi changed?

Your Task…

† Write a sorry prayer that Levi might have said to Jesus, saying why he was sorry. You might want to ask Jesus for forgiveness and say how you will make the right choices from now on.
Remember how we start and end a prayer (usually with ‘Dear God’ and ‘Amen’)
You can choose to write your prayer on the blog or on paper. If you write it on paper, you might want to decorate your special prayer beautifully with some pictures and important symbols.

I can’t wait to read your prayers!
