Hello Class 4!

Well done for another week of online learning! I am SO proud of your hard work, it always makes me smile to see so many of you responding to the blogs every day. You should all be proud of yourselves too!

At St. Vincent’s we were all thinking about how much we miss hearing you all sing! It always brings such joy to the school! We wondered if you miss singing too?

Well if you do you’re in luck! Have a look at this music lesson below. It has a voice warm up and some information about melody and pitch. Then it teaches you to sing a song. Perhaps you could sing it to someone at home? Or sing it with someone at home?

Think about which are your favourite songs from school. They could be some from Mass, a celebration or one of our assemblies. On the blog, write your favourite song and explain why it is your favourite. This old news post on our school website might help you to remember some songs as it has a link to a page with lots of our school songs.

If you would like to, perhaps you could write a new verse for your favourite song or design an album cover for your favourite song? You could use colours and images which remind you of your favourite piece of music.

I look forward to hearing which songs you have enjoyed most. I think my favourite is How Far I’ll Go which is from Moana but we sang it during our class assembly on Ernest Shackleton. It has such a lovely tune and I like the lyrics (that means the song words).

From Miss Lee 🙂

  25. I agree with Holly, all of the songs have there own melody which makes you full of emotions. I must say my favorite warm up song is ‘a cup of coffee’ because it goes faster and faster which makes it more challenging for me every time we sing it. It is also a very fun and entertaining song to sing. I think I share a lot of enthusiasm in the singing lessons now a days as they really cheer me up and encourages me to not give up in class. It also helps me to think about the fun times in singing lessons.

Does the poster of your favorite song has to be a school song?

  46. Good morning year 4,
I hope you all had a nice weekend. I loved reading your responses to this. ‘All I want is a proper cup of coffee’ is a really fun song. Just in case you can’t remember all the words, I’ve typed them below so you can sing it at home:

All I want is a proper cup of coffee
Made in a proper copper coffee pot
I may be off my dot
But I want a cup of coffee in a proper coffee pot
Iron coffee pots and tin coffee pots
    They’re no use to me
If I can’t have a proper cup of coffee in a proper copper coffee pot
I’ll have a cup of tea
