We are focussing on the sound ‘u’
Today’s Phonics task: Practice making the ‘u’ action and saying, ‘u u u u.’
Go on a hunt in your house for things that begin with an ‘u’ sound. Practice saying them like this u u u umbrella.
Can you hear and say the beginning sound of the objects that you have found?
Practice writing the letter u’ in the air and on the table with your finger. You can also write the letter on your laminated card using a whiteboard pen or on paper using pen, crayons, paint or pencil.
I can’t wait to hear about all of the things that you found in your house that begin with the u sound.

Hello, when I send the picture from my phone the text does not come through. We found the same words too (up, under, uncle, umbrella) and as with unicorn we wondered about the word uniform. We think it probably does not fit the U sound.
