Good Morning, Reception.

I hope that you all had a lovely weekend after working very hard on your Maths last week.

Can you put the numbers from 0-20 in 0rder?

Today’s Maths task:
Make a set of number cards from 0-20.   Write the numbers carefully. Here is a reminder of how to form the numbers. 0-10. You might need an adult to help you to get the digits from 12-20 round the right way.

You can decorate your number cards however you choose. Here are some ideas:

Once  your number cards are finished, can you muddle them up and put them in the right order from 0-20?

If you are finding this very tricky, try putting the numbers 0-10 in a row and then the others in a row underneath so 11 is under 1 and so on. This makes it easier to put the 2 digit numbers in order.

Challenge: If you are finding it very easy, ask an adult to take some of the cards away. Then see if you can say the missing number and find the right number card or write down the right number to put in the gap.

Once you have finished, keep your numbers somewhere safe so that you can use them for future tasks.

I am looking forward to hearing all about your Maths today.

Love from Miss Siswick.

PRINTABLE VERSION:R Maths Mon

It would really help me if you could upload photos  straight to the media file (instructions are here: sharing photos and files) as they get to me more quickly and easily as they don’t have to go via the office and my e-mail. Please can either your child’s name or face (but not both) be visible on any photos. Many thanks.

    Good morning Miss Siswick!
We made our number cards this morning, we use beads and sequins to decorate the numbers. Then we use some flash cards to put them in order while the cards we made dried. I took one number away and Philippa had to guess which one was it. We have to practice a little bit number 3, 5 and 9 a little bit.
    We sent you pictures!

  11. I had a lot of fun in drawing cards with numbers. I made them with eyes ? and different colours. I put the cards in the right order. Then we played at mixing some of them and finding the mistakes. After, we took away some of the cards and I found which ones were missing. I had a lot of fun!

He was able to get the cards in order and recognise when I took some away and mixed the remaining numbers up.
He also wanted me to mention that in his mind all numbers (and letters!) have a specific colour so he painted his numbers in their special colours!
