Dear Year 4!
I am so glad to have our whole class back in school this week!
For this week’s creative curriculum homework we are going are looking at PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Education).
Some of us have unfortunately been away from school for a very long time and when we returned there were a few changes to our classroom and school day.

But do not worry! It is absolutely normal to be feeling a little bit confused or worried about being back after such a long time away.
All of our friends and teachers are back to help support us and get back into our usual routine.

What has been positive about being back at school?

Do you still feel worried?
Write your answer on the blog.

Then, answer the following question…

How have you helped your friends settle back into class?

I look forward to reading all of your special comments!

  1. Hi everyone, I have really enjoyed being back at school and seeing all of my friends. I really missed school. I am really enjoying wearing my PE kit for the whole day as it makes the whole day seems special.

  2. I am very happy, that I am back at school, because I see my friends and teachers every day now. I missed going to school, having fun with friends and doing work at school.

  3. Hi Mr. Kersys and everyone 🙂 , I have been really happy to be back to school since I couldn’t see my friends for 6 MONTHS and well, those 6 months seemed like a year gone by. It was LONG but I knew that we would be back like now and I could see my friends and teachers so I was super duper happy, and I loved being back to school. I don’t have any worries because I’m just so happy to come back to school and see my friends and it was a real joy. I basically don’t exactly know if I’ve helped my friends settle in but maybe I have by making my friends laugh.

  4. Thank you for answering these questions in such detail Chloe!

  5. Hi everyone
I feel really glad the school has reopened. It feels very good to be learning again ,with ALL my friends. I did l like it at the hub though, as it was nice being with friends and teachers in lockdown.

  6. Gabriella and Grace -anne says:

The positive thing being back at school is that I am able to socialize with others around me as when I was at home I could not.
Home learning was difficult to maintain so when I am at school I can concentrate and get the help that I need.

I am only worried because another lock down might occur and we will have home school.I find homeschooling hard as I don’t really get the help I need from teachers and rather than writing my work at school I am able to verbally say it.

I have helped my friends settle back in school because I have made them feel safe and comfortable by interacting with them.

  7. Thank you girls for sharing this, I am sure other children in the class have similar worries, we will do everything we can to support you! You have settled in really well and have helped the others feel excited about being back at school so very well done indeed!

  8. I am so glad that school has opened. I really missed my friends. I missed the English and science lesson. I hope we can all stay healthy and follow these rules ,so we don’t catch Corona.

  9. I am SO glad that school has reopened because it was difficult to work online. It was even more difficult to not see your friends every day like normal. But I knew that I would come back to school in not a lot of time. At the end of the holidays I couldn’t wait to go back as I was too excited to wait. When it was the first day at school it felt weird to be back, but I got used to it. I think that I have made someone settle at school because I started talking with her.

  10. I’m so glad to hear you’re helping others settle back into school!
