Today we got to take part in an incredible Adobe workshop! This was such a special lesson because we had the chance to learn about the ongoing climate crisis. We started by talking about the importance of the coral reefs, since about 25% of marine life are dependent on them! Then we looked at pictures of the coral reefs at the Great Barrier Reef. We looked at some before and after photos and noticed a crucial detail: the corals had been bleached! We studied a video of the corals in New Caledonia to see how they were “glowing” vivid colours. This is one of their final defenses before the coral dies and bleaches to white.

To bring awareness to this issue, we each created a poster for the Glowing, Glowing, Gone campaign using Adobe. We learned how to make a photo the background, add and change text, as well as take away the background of certain photos so they blended into our poster. We really impressed our teacher with our creativity, problem solving and editing skills. Well done for such a brilliant and informational lesson Year 3!
