For a week and a half Year 3 had the chance to study Islam in our Religious Education lessons. We had three questions to look at:

  1. How might you recognise a Mosque?
  2. Why are Mosques important in the Islamic faith?
  3. What actions happen in and around a Mosque in preparation for worship?

We learned all about the features of Mosques, such as minarets and the domes. We were so lucky because we got to have one of our very own classmates and the lovely Ms. Akhtar share about wudu and the importance of Makkah.

Earlier this week we had the marvelous opportunity to go to a Mosque! Mr. Mezzi gave us a tour of the London Central Mosque and answered all of our questions. Whilst there, we saw the library, prayer hall and a special exhibition on the 5 pillars of Islam. Thank you so much to the parent volunteers who came along with us. We really appreciate all of your support!
