After some tasty fajitas for lunch, we had all recovered from our soggy morning!

We had learnt so much about maps in the morning so we were very excited to put our knowledge to the test by completing the woodland compass course. We went into the woods with a partner and had to use a compass to find the next part of the trail. At first, using a compass was a bit tricky, but we all managed to use them by the end and all successfully completed the course.

Next, we had our final trip to the tuck shop and then came back to make our own maps of Ewhurst. We looked at the different symbols that are used in OS maps and put them on our maps.

It’s a bit rainy now but the sun is also shining which gives us hope that the weather will get better! It won’t stop our dancing at the disco later tonight!

  1. Miss Coleman says:

Great orienteering Year 6! Have fun at the disco!

  2. This activity was so fun. What made it so fun is the fact that we all had to work together and it gave us a challenge.

  3. Spending our time in the woods is actually very calming and I think looking around and achieving to find clues and knowing the direction was so much fun!
