The past few weeks we have been working hard on creating some Ancient Egyptian prints in Year 3! We began by looking at Egyptian art and discussing the features we noticed. We specifically looked at images of gods and pharaohs. Then, we learned about the different techniques printers could use, and why someone would print in the first place!

Next, we sketched some examples of Egyptian necklaces and headdresses, really trying to zoom in on the smaller details and patterns. We discussed the Egyptian hierarchy and how the jewlery was explicity for pharaohs and gods. This week we had the chance to carve our own design into styrofoam, then use paint and a roller to print it onto paper! We cannot wait to see these up on the displays, as we’ve worked so hard on them!
