During our wider curriculum lessons, we have been focusing on our current Geography topic – Marylebone!

In class and at home, Year 1 have been thinking about and researching what landmarks there are in Marylebone, which ones they have visited and which is their favourite! The children brought in their research to share with the class, and everyone completed such fantastic artwork.

To continue this home – school link and support our learning in Geography, Year 1 chose their favourite building and sketched it. We extended this by visiting the creativity room and having our first art session this year! The art skill we were focusing on was to paint with thin and thick brushes, to create different lines, strokes and textures in their paintings. Year 1 used watercolours to paint their landmarks, and everyone did a great job!

Well done Year 1, you have made a brilliant effort across our wider curriculum sessions and have a beautiful art piece to display in our classroom!
