This week, we had our topic launch afternoon for our new topic, ‘My Community’!
We started by thinking about our school community at St Vincent’s and the local area around us, including Marylebone High Street and Regent’s Park. We talked about the different people who make up our local community and why they are important to us. We also shared ideas about our families and thought about what makes our own families special to us, recognising that every family can be different.
The children then began creating their own houses to represent their homes and families. They used card to make their windows and doors and tissue paper to create their roofs, adding their own ideas and details to make each house unique.
We can’t wait to continue working on our houses next week, adding the finishing touches and getting them ready to go up on display!
