This week in Religious Education Nursery learnt about the story of the Presentation of Jesus. This is when Mary and Joseph took baby Jesus to the temple in Bethlehem. When they were there they met Simeon and Anna, who had been waiting for baby Jesus for a long time! When Simeon saw Jesus he took him and said a prayer to God to thank him for bringing baby Jesus. We read this story and watched a little video showing how it might have looked.
Next we acted out the presentation of Jesus! different students took it in turns saying the different characters of Joseph, Mary, Simeon and Anna. Joseph and Mary walked into the temple and handed baby Jesus over to Simeon. Simeon and Anna both said a prayer and then it was time to Mary, Joseph and Jesus to go home! It was lots of fun learning this story by acting it out.
