Our new class topic in Reception this half term is ‘Traditional Tales.’

The traditional tales we will be focusing on in class are ‘The Gingerbread Man,’ ‘Little Red Riding Hood,’ and ‘Cinderella.’

This week, we spent some time exploring the role of different characters from these stories and talked about their feelings and actions. We recognised that there are good and bad characters in traditional tales and we shared our own ideas and reasons when comparing the characters.

We each chose a character we would like to be from one of our focus stories. We used oil pastels to add colour and added our own photo of our face!

We wrote our own sentences about which character we chose and some of us described the role of the character too!

We are looking forward to lots of storytelling activities this half term.

  1. Little Red Riding Hood went to see her grandma and a wolf wanted to eat Little Red Riding Hood. When she saw her grandmother she said, what big ears you have, the wolf said all the better to hear you with, then she said, what big eyes you have and the wolf said all the better to see you with, then she said, what big teeth you have. The wolf said, all the better to eat you with and chased Little Red Riding Hood. She was called Little Red Riding Hood because she had a red cape. 🐺❤️🦄🌲
