Today’s Maths Task

Workbook: 2B

Chapter: 14 (Time)

Lessons: 9 & 10 (Finding Starting Times)

Website Links: lesson 9 lesson 10

Today is our last lesson on telling the time. I know that for some people it has been a tricky week, and telling the time is something that we’ll have to keep practising until we know it really well. So keep wearing your watch and checking the time throughout the day!

These lessons focus on finding the start times. This means we’ll have to go backwards on the clock to find out when something began. Remember, if we are find the time an hour before, we just need to count back the number of hours. If we are finding the time minutes before, we will have to count back in minutes – if we go through the 12 then the hour will change too.

If you find this tricky, remember to revisit all our Maths blogs from the week to go over the Maths No Problem activities again or play any of the games. (Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s blogs). You could also play this game and practise levels 1&2.

If you are feeling confident, then try the Mind Workout in Maths No Problem. (Link here or go onto Chapter 14, Lesson 12, Chapter Consolidation)

Remember that your parents have all the answers so can mark your work for you.
