The Wonder Room is a special place in the school for children to have a calm space to explore their feelings, regulate their emotions and receive support.
It is used each week by our ELSA and our play therapist and each lunchtime hosts our Lunchtime Hub. Other children are able to use it throughout the week if they need to.
It was specially designed for the school by Kim Molloy, a mother at the school, and WonderWard and was kindly funded by the Howard de Waldon estate. We are so grateful to them both for this wonderful space. Please click here to see the WonderWard Press Release.
The Wonder Room
The blackout tent and soft cushions provide an area for overstimulated children to re-regulate themselves in a safe way.
The tactile wall panels provide sensory stimulation for children.
The space has flexible seating and tables that can be arranged to meet the needs of the different children and groups that use the room.
We are all so looking forward to using our new special room at St Vincent’s.
