We are fortunate to be so close to the Wallace Collection and have a wonderful partnership with them.

Each week, our 12 pupils who are Young Curators of the Wallace Collection, meet with Alys and Dorothee to learn more about the Wallace Collection. Over the year, they do a range of projects including planning and leading tours, finding out about the different art, learning from the art and practising their art skills, and learning about the different jobs in the Wallace Collection.

Behind the Scenes: careers in the museum.

Our Wallace Collection Young Curators found out about the different roles and responsibilities in a museum. Please click here to see what they discovered. Most of the photos were taken by the Young Curators themselves.

Arts and Armour Museum Trail

The Wallace Collection is famous for it’s impressive armour collection. After learning about the different pieces, the Young Curators created a trail around the museum for visitors to see their favourite pieces. Click here to see the trail, which can also be picked up in the Wallace Collection.

Perspective on the Collection

Our Young Curators have recorded their thoughts and insights on some of the Wallace Collection’s pieces of art. You can listen to these on the Bloomberg Connects app (free to download). Once you are on the app, follow these steps:

  • On the homepage in the app scroll down to the ‘Listen and watch’ section
  • Swipe left once to see the ‘Perspectives on the Collection’, and tap on this image
  • A list will then appear, and the first two are the recordings by the Young Curators – ‘The seasons’ and ‘Monsters and myths’
  • Enjoy!
